SkyCity Auckland is in the heart of the CBD, at the corner of Victoria and Federal Streets, with the Sky Tower marking the spot from almost anywhere in the city. From the airport, the simplest option is the SkyDrive express bus, which stops right beside the complex. From Britomart it is a short uphill walk, and drivers can use the 1,960-space SkyCity car park beneath the precinct. The key addresses and route options are below.
Key addresses at a glance
| Purpose | Address / location |
|---|---|
| Casino (official address) | 72–78 Victoria Street West, Auckland 1010 |
| Car park pick-up, drop-off, taxis, rideshare and valet | SkyCity car park, 46 Nelson Street |
| Pedestrian entrance (no pick-up or drop-off) | 85 Hobson Street |
| Car park vehicle entrances | Federal Street, Hobson Street, Nelson Street |
| SkyDrive airport bus stop | Hobson Street side of SkyCity, near the Sky Tower |
| SkyCity main phone | +64 9 363 6000 |
Save 46 Nelson Street in your rideshare app before you set off. It is the most common point of confusion, because the Hobson Street address looks convenient on a map but isn’t set up for vehicles.
From Auckland Airport
SkyDrive express bus
SkyDrive is a dedicated airport bus that connects Auckland Airport with the city, stopping on the Hobson Street side of SkyCity near the Sky Tower.
- Airport pick-up points: Domestic Terminal A and International Terminal E.
- Frequency: every 30 minutes, seven days a week.
- Operating hours: 5am to 10.30pm.
- Fares: fixed fares, published by SkyDrive (check its website for current prices).
SkyDrive does not publish a fixed journey time on its main page, and airport traffic varies a lot by time of day. Allow a generous buffer if you are heading to a show at SkyCity Theatre or an event at the New Zealand International Convention Centre.
If your flight lands outside SkyDrive’s hours, check the alternatives listed on Auckland Airport’s transport page, which covers taxis, rideshare and other public transport options.
Taxi or rideshare from the airport
Ask your driver to drop you at the SkyCity car park, 46 Nelson Street, which is the precinct’s designated taxi and rideshare point. If you’re staying at one of the SkyCity hotels, ask the hotel when you book which entrance is best for check-in with luggage.
From Britomart (Waitematā) station
Britomart, also known as Waitematā station, is the CBD’s main public transport hub for trains, buses and ferries. SkyCity is roughly 1 km away. The route heads uphill from the waterfront through the city centre, so it is a comfortable walk for most people but noticeable with heavy bags.
Tips for the walk:
- Use the Sky Tower as your landmark; it is visible from most CBD streets.
- At night, stick to main, well-lit streets.
- For live bus routes and journey planning from other parts of Auckland, use Auckland Transport’s journey planner.
If you’d rather not walk, a short rideshare or a local bus are both options. Check Auckland Transport for current services.
Driving and parking
The SkyCity car park is Auckland’s largest, with 1,960 spaces under the precinct. Vehicle entrances are on:
- Federal Street
- Hobson Street
- Nelson Street (also the pick-up, drop-off and valet entrance at number 46)
Parking rates change and may differ for events, hotel guests and diners, so check current pricing with SkyCity before you arrive. On busy nights, such as major NZICC conferences or theatre shows, spaces can fill and nearby streets slow down. Arriving early, or using public transport, can save time.
Rideshare and taxi drop-off
All vehicle pick-up and drop-off, taxis, rideshare and valet use the SkyCity car park at 46 Nelson Street. The pedestrian access at 85 Hobson Street is for people on foot only. Arranging a pick-up point at Nelson Street before you finish your evening makes the trip home far smoother, particularly late at night.
Accessibility
SkyCity does not publish full accessibility details on its casino page. If you use a wheelchair or mobility aid, need accessible parking, or want to know which entrance gives step-free access to the area you’re visiting, call SkyCity on +64 9 363 6000 before your trip. Auckland Transport also publishes accessibility information for its train stations and buses.
Planning your visit
Remember that the casino gaming areas are 20+ only, and you’ll need physical ID such as a passport or current driver licence. The casino closes on Christmas Day, Good Friday and from 3am to 1pm on Anzac Day.
